Jeanne McGee is a Minneapolis artist originally from San Francisco. McGee is one of nine children in her family of artists – her mother is a painter and her father is a writer. Having also lived in California, Montana, Alaska and Wisconsin, Jeanne has spent much of her life in the outdoors and this closeness to nature wherever she lives influences her work greatly. In 1989 McGee earned a BA from San Francisco State University; her major was art and her minor was biology. In 1994 she received her MFA from the University of Wisconsin in Madison where she studied printmaking. McGee’s work is found in the collections of the University of St. Thomas, 3M Company and Ceridian Corporation in Minneapolis.
