Sketchbook Drawings, Ephemera & Prints

Sketches from the Field: Sketchbook Drawings, Ephemera & Prints opens November 23, 2019. This pop up exhibition will include over 100 pages from over 40 years of Lynch’s sketchbooks. Also included in this exhibition are over 50 years of prints by Lynch.

Lynch is well known for his contemporary realist portraits of the Midwestern landscapes. He documents the small town corner bar, abandoned grain elevators, illuminated factories and the twilight railyards found across our state. Lynch travelled around Minnesota from the Iron Range, to Duluth, to Minneapolis and the towns in between that dot the prairie.
